A Cry for Justice: Chicano Art and the Cultivation of Humanity at Stanford University
In her forthcoming manuscript, Dr. Salseda captures the importance of art to the formation of cultural pride, inclusive and community-centered educational practices, cross-racial coalition, and social justice campaigns, arguing that the dynamic history of Chicano art at Stanford reflects a national movement across the United States that diversified universities and their curricula and centered institutions of higher learning as world leaders in advancing—not only knowledge, skills, and innovation—but also the vital expansion of humanity.
